Program
·        Improve student’s achivement in science and English. And also improve soft skills of participant in verbal and intelegency.
·         Increase student’s motivation to learn science and compete with appropiate way in a broaden scope.
·         Improve committee’s skills in organizing and cooperating.
The target of this activity are elementary school, middle school and high school students.

PURPOSES

SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2011-Your Hubs Are Here that will be carried out, aims as follows:
1.      Provide opportunity for students to develop their ability in using English.
2.      Provide opportunity for students to development their scientific, logic and critical thinking in looking at all issues related to science.
3.      Develop student’s potential in science aspects.
4.      Discover the solution of science related problems.
5.      Arise student interest in learning science.

YOUR HUBS ARE HERE

This activity entitled SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2011, with an interesting concept that presents different activities – science championship and tour – in Faculty of Mathematics and Science Education, Indonesia University of Education. This activity is expected to build a paradigm of students that science is so exciting and can be found in everyday life, and invites participants to begin to use English in learning science

BACKGROUND

today, English language proficiency has become a demand to be met by everyone. Starting from elementary school, middle school, high School and even within the scope of  university, ability to use English properly are needed. To provide opportunities to develop English-using skills, Academic Department of SA - IPSE organized an activity entitled SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2011. Through this activity students are expected to be able to shar­­­­e their ideas  and opinions actively in English, especially in science. In addition, after following this activity, students are expected to have positive paradigm of science, that actually science is something that is so fun. Since most of the students at the school considers science as a frightening specter. In addition, through this activity, youth are expected to be able to think critically and scientifically and care about things around that relate to science.
